Joey's Fairlane trips the clocks at 8.69 @ 156 mph. The event happened on the 23/02/2002 at The Street Machine Magazines, Street Car Shootout held at Calder Park Raceway. Diary of the days events. 1st Run: No nitrous used, to try out the car after a twisted diff housing had been repaired earlier in the week. ET 9.50 & 142 mph. 2nd Run: Nitrous Stage 1, 150 hp & stage 2, 200 hp connected up. On the launch car hooked well & veered hard right almost crossing the centre line, backed off & didn't go back on the nitrous. The passenger front wheel getting 12" off the ground ET 10.10 @ 126 mph. The great news from this dangerous launch was the 60' time was a outstanding 1.29 sec's. Click on the thumb nails to the right for a full size shot of the twist 3rd Run: Adjusted the pre load on the 4 link by 1/2 a turn, everything else left the same. Again the car launched hard still veering to the right but not as severe as the 2nd run. Backed off at the 330' timers as he was about to run them over. 4th run, Seeked out help from the Demaj Brothers, who were present with their stable of big inch Ford Mazda's. Idriz made some adjustments, that would have taken us another 3 runs or so to get to. Ran with out the nitrous to see how the car reacted off the line. Launch was good & ran straight. ET 9.51 @ 142 mph. 60' 5th Run: Reduced the nitrous jetting by 100 hp (now stage 1, 150 hp, stage 2, 100hp) Car launched hard & straight, the 1st full nitrous pass.
